AM-14032 Meridia Recruitment Solutions has partnered with our client, Riverside Lobster International Inc to recruit a Plant Manager to join their team in picturesque Meteghan, Nova Scotia. The lobster fishing industry is the cornerstone of the economy and therefore Riverside Lobster is guided by sustainable harvesting practices and their state-of-the-art processing facility which guarantees that these local, all-natural products are of the highest quality and are sourced in an ecologically responsible manner. Role Description: The Plant Manager is responsible for the safe and efficient operations of the facility, the management and administration of the production management systems, as well as production scheduling. They will also lead and participate in continuous improvement efforts and cost reduction activities but more importantly, this individual will be responsible for creating a high-performance work environment that promotes collaboration, employee engagement, customer satisfaction and goal attainment at all levels. Your responsibilities will include: Oversee all production planning and results including; safety, quality & production goals; Proactively manage employee relations, performance, training & professional development for large and diverse team including department managers; In co-operation with production leaders, regularly identify and address production improvement opportunities; Identify opportunities for manager/employee mentoring and implement effective, sustainable strategies; Create and manage annual budget, preparing regular reports; Strategize, plan and implement Continuous Improvement measures. Qualifications: As the ideal candidate, you are a leader with a clear understanding of core manufacturing principles, including metrics management, capacity planning, financial budgeting, labour planning, scheduling, material flow/inventory management, lead time, and waste reduction. You possess strong interpersonal skills, and you have the confidence to draw on your expertise and make well thought out decisions. Your qualifications will include: Bachelor's degree in Administration, Finance, Operations Management or any other relevant field or related post-secondary education is an asset; Minimum of ten (10) years of Operations Leader or Plant Manager experience dealing with complex supply chains in fast-paced environment required, seafood or other food production environment experience would be an asset; Strong knowledge of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, and inventory; Ability to create accountability and to lead by example; Strong decision-making and people management skills; Ability to display initiative and demonstrate sound business judgment; Demonstrated experience building, motivating and leading successful teams; Ability to speak French would be an asset.
